In a showcase of commitment to quality talent and immersion in community, the Conti Group made the keynote speeches at the Rutgers University New Jersey American Concrete Institute (ACI) Chapter Dinner. Conti speakers, Matthew Skidmore and Greg Kerrigan, presented a taste of the practical world of construction talking about their experience in the Route 18 Rehabilitation project to faculty and students from Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
The 154-million dollar project, whose New Brunswick location affected the Rutgers students directly, included improved highway operations, enhanced safety, and improved aesthetics. Skidmore and Kerrigan discussed the challenges of traffic shifts on a busy highway and staging strategy that all resulted in two awards for excellent service and construction.
“It was very exciting for Conti to reach out to the future minds of the construction industry. Not only do they get a chance to learn about the industry and help shape their future, but we also get a chance to learn from the future leaders of the industry and share our story,” explained Skidmore shortly after the speech.
