Safety
Conti is committed to the safety of each and every employee.
It
is essential that all managers and supervisors insist on the maximum safety
performance and awareness of all employees under their direction, by enthusiastically
and consistently administering all safety rules and regulations.
-
An
aggressive injury and illness prevention effort is a key accountability
factor for every manager, supervisor, and employee. Safety, quality,
and productivity go hand in hand. To be effective, the Safety, Health
& Environmental Program & Procedures Manual applies process controls
similar to those that are used to maintain the superior quality and
serviceability of Conti's everyday work schedule.
-
Prevention
of injuries and illnesses is consistent with sound management practices
and optimum employee relations. A formal Safety & Health Program, combined
with safe working conditions and good housekeeping controls is an essential
tool in achieving the goals of Conti which are maximum productivity,
superior quality, and customer satisfaction.
-
Conti
continues to make improvements in reducing work-related injuries and
illnesses. Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is currently 0.50,
employers start with an EMR of 1.0. A lower EMR, meaning that fewer
or less severe accidents have occurred than were expected, results in
lower insurance costs. We have consistently maintained this excellent
safety record as shown below:
